My daughter and I had been on ''baby-watch'' for weeks. Since Molly B usually delivers early we just knew she would be here well before her due date on February 4th!! But the time we thought she would deliver came & went, and then her due date came & went......we were wondering if Molly B was going to pull a 13 month pregnancy this time!! Sunday afternoon we decided to be couch potatos & watch some movies. Around 6:30pm we headed out to the barn to feed & water everybody and check on Molly B before "Desperate Housewives" & "Grey's Anatomy" came on. Molly B was the same......nothing to indicate she would have that baby in 3 hours, that's for sure!! We headed back to the house and finished the last movie and watched the sitcoms. About 11pm I went to the barn to give everybody a ''snack'' before bedtime & to check on Molly B. I gave the first stall their snack and grabbed another few flakes of hay for the other stall past Molly B......I glanced over at Molly B to tell her I would bring her hay in a minute. I did a double take when I saw a tiny replica of Molly B standing beside her!! I couldn't believe it.....I know I blinked a few times just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. But no, there she was..... already born, all licked off, eating, pooping & peeing!! We figured she was born between 9 & 10pm.......we were watching "Desperate Housewives." So my daughter named her "Gabriella." We were very excited about her finally being born but we were also very disappointed that we missed it!!!

At this time we have decided to retain this pretty little girl for our breeding program.

Baby Snickers is one of the friendliest donkeys I have ever had. She will be the first at the gate to greet me. While everyone else is eating, Snickers will come over and visit with me while I am scoop'n poop.......that is SO amazing to me!! A donkey that actually wants to ''play'' instead of eat......this is a very special jennet and we love her very much. In March '07 we will cross Snickers with our herdsire, Rock'n Rocky. We are sure to have great foals from these two.....they both have the greatest conformation and temperaments!!
